An Appeal to the Young, a masterpiece of fiction targeted at young men and women ready to enter the profession, was originally published in Kropotkin's magazine, La Revolte, and was quickly followed by a booklet. Pyotr Alexeyevich Kropotkin is the author. He was a Russian anarchist, socialist, revolutionary, historian, physicist, philosopher, and anarcho-communist activist. Kropotkin was born into an aristocratic land-owning family and subsequently served as an officer in Siberia, where he participated in various geological investigations. In 1874, he was imprisoned for his activities and managed to escape two years later. He lived in exile for the following 41 years, in Switzerland, France, and England.
